Second Chance Happenings- Auction Preparations!

This Saturday night is Second Chance's Ninth Annual Auction for the Animals. Kristine, Carol, Joanna, and many other volunteers have been working tirelessly this week to make the event come to life.

Our job was to turn this room at Delightful Inspirations into auction central.

Second Chance Happenings- July 20, 2009

Hi. My name is Rachael, and I'm interning at Second Chance Pet Adoptions this summer. I've decided to write a blog every now and then to keep everyone informed about what's going on at Second Chance!

July 20, 2009

It was a rainy Monday at Second Chance Pet Adoptions.

But inside, Lisa was all smiles, as usual.

Even Catawba, the slightly crazy but very handsome lobby cat, was having a good day, approaching me to be stroked and taking a cat nap on some papers he’d found on the ground while I was organizing the lobby wardrobe.

Ta da!

Lisa says not to mess it up or she will hurt you.

This weekend, cuddly Roxie was adopted! You may remember her as the sweet kittie in one of the cages at the front of Second Chance. When she was out of her cage, she liked to sit with Lisa on her chair or wander over the papers on her desk. And she always loved to receive attention! We will miss her, but are so glad she’s found her forever home!
Meanwhile, Claire moved in to Roxie’s old spot.

Other kitties were moving, too. Meet the newest additions to the Second Chance rooms:

Dakota moved into the peach room. She has plenty of personality and is adjusting just fine.

Marjorie moved into the blue room. She is a skinny girl. She is initially shy, but is very sweet and likes to curl up in your lap. She has a sister named Maisie, too!

Brother and sister, Bahama and Sailor, moved into the green room.

Bahama is a handsome young man who loves to play and loves attention. In fact, it was hard to take his picture because he kept chasing the camera’s string wrist handle!

Sailor, on the other hand, is more reserved. She was taking a nice afternoon nap.

As always, visit www.secondchancenc.org to find more information about Second Chance or individual cats and dogs that need to find their forever homes!

And don't forget about Second Chance's 9th Annual Auction for the Animals coming up this Saturday, July 25th!
